Seap One - Sickness of Seap

Gritty City Records has added a heavy hitter from Seap One to the label’s catalog.  The boozed-up, sexed-out mixtape sheds some light into his psychological fucked-up-ness and features RVA/Gritty City buddies Fan Ran, Delta Automatik, Johnny Ciggs, Joe Threat, and more.  Political and social commentaries fly in some of these tracks.  For instance, in “Proverbial Youth (feat. Delta Automatik),” the lines, “Seems the disembodiment of the proverbial youth/Living the kama sutra in denial of drug abuse/The world’s stretched beyond its means, son,” are just part of the wisdom Seap’s trying to get across. “Seap Knows Sorrow” (“in misery I wallow”) takes his authority a step further by telling us he’s been through it. Don’t forget the too real “Ratchet Kids Anthem (feat. Fan Ran)” because you’ll hear sweet lines like, “We got nothing but our balls and a dream/This is for my ratchet kids who live up scene/The ones scraping resin hits off of the screen/My gutter motherfuckers and my Gritty City team.”  Heyyelll yeah.

Gritty City Records - A Nightmare on Meade Street

The crew from Gritty City Records have put together a truly horrific mixtape.  Some creepy beats and spooky rhymes make this album totally seasonally appropriate.  Horrorcore tracks like “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” toe the line of gore appropriateness (perhaps some of the images are a little TOO vivid).

Whatever, you’re warned.  Here is the artist lineup with creeptacular code names:

Delta Automatik as Swag Simpson
Pandemic as Ashton Butcher
Johnny Ciggs as Scary Seinfeld
Sirus the Virus as Frankie Pumpkins
Skweeky Watahfawls as Prank Zappa
All beats Produced by Johnny Ciggs and Delta Automatik
Executive Producer Jono Flakowicz

Gritty City Fam - “Flawless Raw Shit”

The Gritty City Family went to VA Beach recently and filmed this video of the crew hanging out.  Delta Automatik, Johnny Ciggs, Sirus the Virus, and Pandemic took turns spittin’ some shit, busting out of a porta-potty as an entrance.  It’s pretty funny because you can tell the guys are having a tough time keeping it together and not laughing.

EDIT:  Come out to Baja Bean on Saturday (8/11) for Gritty City artists and more:

“Some of VA’s most talented emcees will be performing including Divine Profitz, Black Liq, Josh ‘Freeze’ Reed, Checkbook, Rugged Real, Swerve 36”
