Octavion X feat. Conrizzle - “For the Crew” (prod. by EJ Bollmann of Diamond Beach)
Get your week started right with the newest cut from Octavion X, “For the Crew.” Featuring Conrizzle, the track is fresh and up even though it was recorded in December. Thanks to Slapdash for the headsup!
The track loops a sample that sounds like an exaggerated swipe noise. The sound is manipulated left and right. Sometimes it’s coming from inside something else and slowed down. Epic Fest is going down in 2013, and the artist applications are due by April 30th. Check out more info at Slapdash.

Octavion X feat. Chance Fischer, Artik Phreeze, & BCMusic1st - “Get It How You Live” (prod. Mr. Ivory Snow/Soul Live Media)
Octavion X has a new video brought to you by Smooth Dirty Productions and Suburban District. This is another track from X’s recent Vigilante project (which was so highly anticipated, there are three teaser videos about it). Octavion X recruited Chance Fischer, Artik Phreeze and BCMusic1st to add some flow to this cut. What results is a yet another reason to love being from Richmond. RVA shoutouts abound in this dirty, raw and hype track. This has been called the “RVA anthem for 2013,” and we’re okay with that! The end features some live footage from, perhaps, Octavion X’s throw down Thursdays at Infuzion.

Octavion Xcellence - Vigilante EPK (Part 1 of 3) (by Rob Roby)
Suburban District’s Octavion X released the full length Vigilante (w/ DJ Shermski) near the end of 2012, and now Soul Live Media has made this promo video featuring music from the album and video clips. Guests on the album include Chance Fischer, Suburban District, Jo Casino, Conrizzle, and more! There are also some interview portions of the video which include an itemized discography, shout outs to Richmond, and where he wants to be in five years. This album is about to get BLOWN UP, so sit back and watch.
Here are a couple of dope-ass tracks from Vigilante that Octavion X has posted, both of which were produced by EJ Bollmann. “Nunchucks”:

The New Juice Crew - KnowTheLedge Vol. 1
Get ready for The New Juice Crew, an RVA collective of bad ass MCs. The Crew has just released KnowTheLedge Vol. 1, 23 tracks including Black Liq, Lord Slugg, and Octavion X. The samples of Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire,” in the first track (“Guard Your Face”) are just the beginning of the righteous snippets used on the record. Also booze is the news on this album. Check out Bandolero’s “Foreign Bitch” for a chopped-and-screwed intro and internal rhymes. Azrael Onassis, Lord Slugg and Black Liquid’s “Juiced Up” kills it alcohol style. “40s all night… We don’t drink like you, you drink like us.”
I just clicked on over to RVA Mag’s review of this record, and Andrew Necci digs deep for his awesome review. Check it.

Artik Phreeze feat. Octavion Xcellence - “Back on My Bullshit” (“B.O.M.B.S.”)
Artik Phreeze (pictured below) has just released a video single from his mixtape The Best Thing That Hasn’t Happened, featuring Octavion Xcellence of Suburban District. The video was directed by Jay Aura (Aura High Def) and produced by Smooth Dirty Productions. The beginning of the video informs the viewer that six people were injured during the making of the video, and six people also brought real weapons to the set. The scenes with the machete are especially intense. There are tons of great lyrics quotes including, “Feel like I’m walking on the clouds/Shittin on these N’s/I can feel it in my bowels.”

Suburban District - “Bleachers” (prod. by Conrizzle)
Suburban District, made up of Octavion Xcellence, Tim Porter and Fair, just dropped new album Beer for Breakfast. “Bleachers” is the first single, and it will get you stomping and clapping in no time. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the album!

Octavion X (feat. Ryan Flow and Isaiah Clements (Isaiah the Gentleman)) - “Born & Raised”
Richmond is ALL UP in Octavion Xcellence’s (pictured below) new single “Born and Raised.” Put it on, turn it up, jam it out.

so dope.
