Vince Kane - Cheerleader Technique

Vince Kane may be young, but he’s already got a distinctive style.  He has just released Cheerleader Technique, a 12-song LP.  The one-man-band plays all instruments and produced the album with Richard DiCicco.  Kane, in his own words, says: “This album is for all the things that make you want to get up or sit down, drink and smoke, or sit in the corner and write poetry.”

Kane’s vocals are reminiscent of Andrew Stockdale (Wolfmother) but can be a bit pitchy at times.  That very well could just be an effect of sliding into the note.  It somehow makes the sound sleeker.  Check out “One Year Old Boy” for noisy rock ‘n roll with a 90s buzz.  “Danielle” has delicate piano introduction and a brooding tinge.

The album is “For Clarity” and dedicated to Annie Clark (St. Vincent), “without whom this record would not exist.”
