Win Tickets to Friday Cheers this week starring Kishi Bashi and Lake Street Dive!

Kishi Bashi - 151a

You may have heard of K Ishibashi aka Kishi Bashi as a member of the touring bands of Regina Spektor and Of Montreal.  Perhaps you have seen the Windows 8 commercial and heard his song, “Bright Whites”  Bashi was also a founding member of Jupiter One

Kishi Bashi is from Norfolk where his parents were professors at ODU.  He creates sweeping, orchestral synth and string soundscapes and then croons with the adorableness of Paul McCartney.  He has a delicate voice in quieter moments, but his vox grows with intensity as the songs do.

Win a pair of tickets to see The Lone Bellow and Radical Face @ Friday Cheers this week!

E-mail me at soundsofrva at gmail dot com by Thursday at noon to enter!  Winner will be drawn randomly.

The Lone Bellow (pictured below) is a three-piece Brooklyn string band which has taken the roots scene by storm.  The band’s stunning harmonies will suck you in.  Zach Williams is the lead singer and principal song writer.

When we think of Radical Face, we tend to think about 2007, the year his album with single “Welcome Home” was released.  The lush string pop song had a really resonant refrain.  Jacksonville’s Ben Cooper is the name behind the project, and he will bring his latest lineup on Friday.
