“She’s a Star” will also be on the upcoming 7” (out March 7) which will double as a comic book.  Cover art was done by James Callahan (Barf Comics) while the inside stories were done by Meg Gandy (“She’s a Star”) and Matt Deans (“Elegant Universe”).  The copies will be limited to 200 and involve white-splattered black 45 rpm.  This was recorded at Snake Oil Recording by Dan-O Deckelman.  You may recognize the female vocals on “Elegant Universe” from Molly Berg (Fuzzy Baby, The Girtles).

Come out to the Record Release Show (MARCH 7) @ Balliceaux.  Stay tuned for more deets on that.

Here is “Elegant Universe”:

Synths and lasers surround a catchy spacey-Gothic melody.  “If you see me lying on the floor, it’s okay … ” goes the refrain, and Berg’s high-pitched vocal harmonies are slightly atonal and robotic.  The song feels like a working machine.

Cheyenne - Secrets of the Cheyenne

Cheyenne (pictured below) has just released this new album, Secrets of the Cheyenne, online!  Be a part of the production of the vinyl LP with Worthless Junk Records’ recent Kickstarter.  Not only will you be helping Cheyenne with a physical release (ahem, grow up), you’ll also be giving a hand to bands Shy, Low and Way, Shape, or Form.  Both bands have released new albums this year (on the Subterranea Collective label), but they want to get the music to the lo-fi fans.

Most of the tracks are about two minutes in length for those ADD punks.  Listen to “Boy Problems” for a catchy commentary on an overly-active mind.

White Laces - “Dissolve Into Color”

This bad boy is the newest release from White Laces from their upcoming 7” split with Philadelphia’s Arches on Worthless Junk Records.  Sink your sonic teeth into it and enjoy.  I was lucky enough to acquire a pre-release copy and it effing rules.  It is definitely worth sinking a few bucks into for the magical-rainbow oil-slick physical record.  Plus, you wanna be able to say you knew of these guys way back when this 7” came out.
