Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video game review of Twisted Metal for the Sony PlayStation, developed by SingleTrac. This is the first installment in Sony’s prolific series of vehicular combat games, featuring outlandish characters, vehicles, and weaponry. Take the wheel of an ice cream truck with Sweet Tooth the psychotic clown, a deathly motorcycle with Mr. Grimm, or ten other crazy vehicles in chaotic arena based combat. The original Twisted Metal isn’t quite as polished as some of its sequels, but this one still definitely rocks after all these years! This review features gameplay from Twisted Metal with commentary from CGRundertow reviewer Kevin.

Yeah, but the microtransactions suck
Loved this game – second one I bought (after Resident Evil, of course.)
Yaaaaasss this was my shit!
cool review, the first part is not enough multiplayer
This game is as classic as it gets. My fav game while growing up! AWESOME GAME.
Am I the only one who wants Mountain Dew now?
it may seem paradoxical, but I have many more good memories with old games than games from now .
pure game for a pure times !!!!!
Thumper from Bambi was in Twisted Metal?!
You had good things to say about this game. My constructive criticism would be that it's too clear you're reading off of something. Make bullet points that you want to talk about, then talk about them freely. Add shorthand notes if there's a phrase or something you want to use
@Bleahgames123465 On YouTube look up Twisted Metal 1 Minion gameplay
You can't play as Minion in the first game without crashing it.
Actually, there were 13 cars, you forgot MINION
I remember, go to a friends house Friday night and play twisted metal all night Friday, all day Saturday, all night Saturday, all day Sunday, and sleep Sunday night!!!!!
Ok, but I doubt it would be a "great" movie. I mean how do you turn a game centered on contest into a movie? Just look at Street Fighter. The driver's have great stories to tell, but how do you tell them without having everyone win? I use to want a Twisted Metal movie, but I don't see it being that good. But that's not stopping Hollywood from making it as we speak. Who knows? Maybe it could be something ;/
Playing this game again reminded me of the days of 90's Nick, VHS movies and Batman the Animated series.
THUMBS UP IF YOU THINK TM SHOULD BE A MOVIE 🙂
god i remember going to my cousin's house to play twisted metal, tekken, resident evil director's cut and part 2, and GTA1. I never liked the playstation systems, but they had some kick ass games! Then he would come to my house because I had the N64(mario party, Zelda, and Goldeneye), and if we wanted to play dreamcast, we would go to our other cousin's house.
That game you're thinking of is Carmageddon, and you must've played the censored version, because normally you run over living humans.
Did u do a review for def jam fight for NY, cuz it is awesome
i hate ps3 but ps1 and gamecube with all the classic games like animal crossing were the best
hey guys i wanted to know if you guys remember this rc shooting game for the ps1 one of the levels or map where playground , cinema/theater , kitchen . that i could remember it was like this game u could shoot bullets and rockets and in each map you had a power thing . if you guys could help me

@ARX78
same here man! Twisted Metal is the game that got me into gaming! I am so glad the series is getting a reboot on PS3.
They need to remake this but keep the levels, arcade control, and unrealistic gameplay as is, add online features, maybe a super huge level for 50 player matches.
holy crap this brings back memories. i remember it taking forever to beat Minion on the roof top lol
I loved this game back in the day… until the second one came out.. holy crap. The first 2 games in this series were incredible.
This is my kind of game. Im a huge sucker for old school PS1 games, I really am. If I go out to a store to buy any game, but if I see a PS1 game on the shelves, I buy it instantly.
Its because I had a PS1 as a kid, it was my only system as a kid, and I loved it to death. So I geuss thats why I'm addicted to buy PS1 games, because they feel so nostalgic and classic.
Twisted Metal 2 was the first PS1 game I ever played. This and Wipeout 2097 sold the colsole to me.
@downphoenix So..it look like crap…
@MrDeathSmiles Sega Saturn is the shit! My first 32-bit system.
